PROVIDING TOP-QUALITY TEAMMATES THAT EXCEED EXPECTATIONS

THERAPY

1. Plan and provide appropriate individual and group therapy to students consistent with speech and language goals.

2. Evaluate student progress and determine readiness for termination of therapy services.

ASSESSMENT

3. Conduct evaluations to assess students with speech or language disorders, AAC and feeding evaluations.

4. Develop clinical management strategies or procedures and diagnostic statements by interpreting observations or data. 

5. Participate with families to assist in interpretation of assessment data, appropriate placement, and goal setting for students with communication disorders.

CONSULTATION


6. Counsel and involve parents in the remediation process.

7. Collaborate with families and professionals to increase carryover and development of skills.

8. Provide professional development to families and their professionals to help and understand communication deficits and support in generalization.

9. Communicate effectively with colleagues, graduate students, clients, and parents regarding the accomplishment of therapy goals and needs of the student. 

CASE MANAGEMENT

10. Create an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the maturity level and interests of students.

 11. Establish control and administer discipline according to the handbook.

PROGRAM MANAGEMENT

12. May supervise licensed speech-language pathology assistant(s), or Clinical Fellows.

13. Develop and coordinate a continuing evaluation of speech-language pathology services and make changes based on the findings. 

14. Assist in the selection of equipment and instructional materials. 

15. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other required documents. 

16. Comply with policies established by federal and state laws, State Board of Education rule, and board policy. 

17. Comply with all state and ASHA regulations.

18. Participate in professional development activities to improve skills related to job assignment. 

19. Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION

May direct and monitor the work of speech-language pathology assistant(s) or speech aide(s).

* If supervision is completed, SLP is responsible for keeping all documentation of supervision within the provided notebook and will turn in at the end of the year or when supervision is terminated.
