1. Plan and provide appropriate individual and group therapy to students consistent with activities of daily living, sensory processing, and more.
2. Evaluate student progress and determine readiness for termination of therapy services.
3. Conduct evaluations to assess students with activities of daily living, sensory processing disorder, feeding, AAC, etc.
4. Develop clinical management strategies or procedures and diagnostic statements by interpreting observations or data.
5. Participate with families to assist in interpretation of assessment data, appropriate placement, and goal setting for students with communication disorders.
6. Counsel and involve parents in the remediation process.
7. Collaborate with families and professionals to increase carryover and development of skills.
8. Provide professional development to families and their professionals to help and understand communication deficits and support in generalization.
9. Communicate effectively with colleagues, graduate students, clients, and parents regarding the accomplishment of therapy goals and needs of the student.
10. Create an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the maturity level and interests of students.
11. Establish control and administer discipline according to the handbook.
12. May supervise licensed certified occupational therapist assistants
13. Develop and coordinate a continuing evaluation of occupational therapy services and make changes based on the findings.
14. Assist in the selection of equipment and instructional materials.
15. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other required documents.
16. Comply with policies established by federal and state laws, State Board of Education rule, and board policy.
17. Comply with all state regulations.
18. Participate in professional development activities to improve skills related to job assignment.
19. Other duties as assigned.
